Welcome to Winston-Salem State University's application center.  Please note that your application and all required materials must be received before we can render a decision. See requirements for your student type (new students) or for Traditional Nursing program (current pre-nursing students applying to the Upper Division of Nursing). Select the correct application after logging into your account below.

If you have an account from a previous application, select "Log in" under Returning users to log in and then select Start New Application.


Please see the applicant descriptions below and select the option that best fits you. 

New Incoming Students

• Freshman - Student attending college for the first time after graduating high school.
• Transfer - Student transferring after attending another college or university.
• Readmit- Student reapplying to WSSU after attending in the past, regardless of whether they have earned credits elsewhere in the meantime.
• Second Degree - Student who has earned a bachelor’s degree (at WSSU or elsewhere) and is now pursuing a second degree.
• Non-Degree - Student who is seeking to earn college credits only.
• Visiting - Students from other colleges or universities seeking to take courses at WSSU.

• Traditional Nursing (TBSN) - Current WSSU students only 
  • You'll need your WSSU Banner ID to complete this application.
  • Prepare to upload copies of your official transcripts.
  • Also upload copies of your TEAS scores.
